Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

We did not plan a trip at the last minute and surprise everyone that we were coming two days before we would arrive, nope, not us, never!
I did not ruin the surprise party that my friends were secretly planning for me by going out of town last minute. nope. wouldn't do that.
I definitely did not stay up till 2 a.m. talking to Courtney. Okay, it was more like 3, maybe 4? Okay, Okay it was really NOT more like 5 by the time we got to bed. I promise.
We of course had everything all settled as to where we were going to live...it being two weeks till our wedding and all...I mean who would wait that long to have everything settled?? Not us.
Because we were all prepared and had everything settled we are not going to be living in Sherman for 6 Months. Of course not.

*Now if I only didn't know how to do those strike through things....;)

I have been editing pictures all day today and I am very relieved and glad to say that I only have one and a half more sessions to edit!!! YAY!! I am hoping to get "Thank You" notes written tonight and then on Wed. we are going on a little vacation for the rest of this week. :) I am looking forward to that! When we get back life is going to be a blur until the wedding! There is A LOT going on. I plan to post Julia's prom pics after this weekend and then that may be it for a while! Game Plan

I have two more sessions to edit and one more session to shoot and edit then I will be DONE with photography for a couple of months (for others, not for myself...I will be taking TONS of pictures on our honeymoon!) ;)

Here's the plan...Once we get moved and settled into our "new" life, I plan to take my time getting my business started so it is more "professional" I am going to make a website with the pictures I have previously taken, make business cards, have a "logo" to watermark my pictures with, change the name to "AGphotography" {grin}, and start advertising around town, oh, and find LOTS of awesome locations =0) (I can't wait to go exploring!!) And of course figure out all the book keeping and all that goes with owning a "small business". I can't wait!!! I plan to do all of that over the summer then hopefully have it all up and running by the Fall!

I am also planning to take several more photography classes and maybe even get my degree in photography! I can't wait! These classes sound amazing. :)

So, we will see if those things come about! I am just wanting to do the Lord's will in all things, so it is all up to Him and I hope to do these things in His timing instead of in mine. So many times we set out with all of our "plans" when He has something so much greater in mind for us...So you just never know!! :) I know He will bless no matter what happens. He always has.

I have been super busy with editing pictures, writing thank you notes, making sure all the last minute details are coming together, bridal showers, bridal pictures, packing my room, and the list goes on....
Today I was at Bella's getting my bustle on my dress so that I don't trip while I dance the night away. ;) After I had been standing there for about 10 minutes or so I started feeling light headed (I had been REALLY hot all day and once I got my dress on it didn't help with the whole hotness problem one bit.) So I sat down for a little while and decided that I was feeling better and told them we could go on with the bustling (I'm not sure that's a word?) Maybe one minute later I was out cold...lol I don't even remember what happened but my Mom said I started walking back toward the chairs so they (3 people) started "helping" me to go sit down....well they ended up carrying/dragging me over the the chairs haha....ya, it was pretty embarrassing... I was only out for about 30 seconds but it was pretty exciting for everyone there at Bella's...I was great entertainment for the day. I will now prlly always be referred to as "the girl that passed out while having her dress bustled". :)
There are more stories I could tell but I don't want this post to turn into a book soo here are some pictures of some of the things that I have been up to!

I have almost my whole room packed, all thats left are my clothes! (and the pictures on the walls)

We rescheduled this shoot twice due to weather and I'm so glad we waited until today to take these pictures...it was such a beautiful day!! If these people look familiar, it's because I took pictures of them last year...:) It was great to see them again and this time their Mom joined in! My Cousin Julia is graduating High school next month! I can't believe it. It seems like yesterday that we were playing in my front yard...we used to always play "house" in our big tree...We had a lot of fun times :) These are a couple of my favorite pictures from the last half of her session. The first part of the session she wore her prom dress and doesn't want anyone to see it yet, so I will post those later! (I loooove her prom dress pictures!!) I went by today to see if I had gotten anything in the contest that I had entered last week...and I was pleasantly surprised to see that this precious picture of Clara won 3rd place!!! Yay. I was so excited!! I get a cash prize and everything :)
I am going to be soo busy in the next couple of weeks so I may not be posting as much as usual.
I have a senior session Friday and a family session Monday so I will at least post some sneak peeks of those sometime next week hopefully.

I know the last 3 posts have been about Connor and/or Dawson but I just had to post once more about my favorite 3 year old boy! (and another reason I have no other pictures to post is because I have had to re-schedule shoots due to weather once again! grrr) So, because I have been so busy with wedding plans I am doing this about 4 days late...but better late than never!

Dawson and Row-Row

Dawson has a little friend that he takes everywhere with him named "Row-Row" (we aren't really sure what he was trying to say when he named it and it was before he could talk so to this day it is still "Row-Row") :) So of course Dawson brought Row-Row along for the pictures. I asked Dawson to set Row-Row down in front of him and then to go stand against the wall...Well this is how Dawson "set him down" (I guess Row-Row was sleeping or eating lol)

As Dawson was walking over to the wall I set Row-Row upright so that we could see him in the picture.......

At first Dawson didn't notice that I had set Row-Row up and he was content taking pictures...But then.......He noticed ............

He declared in a loud voice "Hey! Row-Row Blowed UP!!" and stomped over to put him in the correct position.....

And then stomped back to the wall for more pictures.......

I think he was pretty proud of himself for noticing lol....Too cute.........

and that is my funny Dawson story from the shoot. :)
If all had gone as planned, I would have new pictures to post but the weather has just not wanted to be my friend lately so I have had to re-schedule 2 shoots! Bummer. Oh well...Look for new pics soon!! Hope everyone is having a great week!!

I am so blessed and excited about all the sessions I am booking! My weekends are booked until the second week of April! Since I am getting married in May, I am only going to be doing sessions through April. After that I will be in a new town and have a new name! {grin} So, if you have been thinking about getting your pictures made, book now!! ;) If for some reason you can't book until May, I know of an amazing photographer (http://www.kearydeephotography.com/) that is coming May 22 and she is doing as many sessions as she can in the couple days while she is here!

I took this picture at Tech and decided to play around with it on photoshop...I learn the most when I am just messing around and wow, I learned soo many cool things that I can now apply to my photographs {grin} I'm pretty excited about it. So excited in fact, that I really really wanted to go out and shoot but didn't have anybody to go with me or to take pictures of so I ended up taking pictures of my cat...which will be my next post. I actually got some really good ones of him! I love my cat.

Yesterday I finally ordered my two lenses for my late Christmas/early Birthday presents! I can't wait to get them in. (Hopefully they will be here in time for my next shoot; Ashlea and her two boys, Conner and Dawson.) :))

That's all for now...I am off to start using all of my newly acquired photoshop skills on my pictures of Huckle.

Texas Tech

Most Saturday mornings I get together with my photographer buddy, Minerva. This week we decided to go around Tech's campus and see what we could find! We were also joined by a former class-mate Tina. We had a great time walking around and bouncing ideas and questions off of each other. I took sooo many pictures but I decided to only post one...I am not in an editing mood lately...So here is my one picture... {grin}

Bradford Pear's are such beautiful trees! There is only one problem, they smell horrible!! They were ALL over Tech's campus and that smell makes me feel sick to my stomach!! I toughed it out and got close enough to get some pictures though...Just because they are so very pretty. :)) Well, that's it for now...! Next up are pictures of my soon-to-be sister-in-law Ashlea and her adorable boys! I can't wait.

Can't Decide...

I am wanting to enter some of my photographs in a contest that is coming up soon.
The only problem is, I can't decide which ones to enter!
They can be of anything, the only categories are Black and White or Color. So I can pretty much enter any of my pictures. I just need your help to know which ones!!! If there has been a picture that I have taken that has really stood out to you and that you think would do well in a competition, I would really appreciate your input! I entered this contest last year when I was still shooting with film and I got an honorable mention! Now that I actually know/can see what I am doing with a digital camera I hope to place this time!! =0D We shall see...It'll be fun no matter what! Thanks ahead of time for any input!

This has been going around Facebook for a while now and I finally gave in and wrote my 25 things...I wanted to post it on here because a certain someone *cough cough COURTNEY cough* still doesn't have a facebook =0)

Rules: Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it's because I want to know more about you. =)

1. I never liked reading until about a year ago, now I read all the time.

2. I have only held hands with, dated, kissed, and loved one boy: Blake Aaron Gibson.

3. Whenever I call Blake "Blake" he says...uh-oh, whats wrong? Because I ALWAYS call him Charlie!

4. After I won the Friendship Jr. High tennis tournament when I was only 9 or 10, I was convinced I was going to Wimbledon.=0D

5. I have this thing with numbers...it's really kind of weird, but I only like certain ones and hate it when I am assigned a number for something with numbers I don't like in it...I switched computers in computer class just because of this problem...

6. Because of the problem stated in # 5, it took forever for me to decide on a wedding date! We thought of the perfect one, May (5) which was my number in basketball, 24th which was Blake's number in basketball.

7. I am very attracted to polka-dots, anytime I am shopping my eye is automatically drawn to anything with them.

8. After Blake and I are married we want to travel alot and try a new thing each year, wakeboarding, snow boarding, surfing, etc...and not just try it, but actually take the time to be good at each thing...

9. Blake has 9 nieces and nephews and I love them all to death. I can't wait to be their "Aunt Abbie"!

10. Blake and I are moving to Mckinney after we are married and I want to start my photography business once we are there...I can't wait!

11. I love my family and my friends very much. I am so blessed to have each and every one of them.

12. My Dad got me my first Twilight book and now I am addicted...I am officially a Twilight Nerd. And I am proud to say I got my sister-in-law-to-be, Courtney, addicted too...we are going to start a club lol.

13. I used to only watch the super-bowl for the commercials, now I watch it for the game...I am starting to like football...(didn't think I would EVER say that.)

14. I would love to use my photography for missions.

15. I am so unworthy of all that God has blessed me with. His unfailing love never ceases to amaze me.

16. I am such a night owl..I hardly ever go to bed before 1:00 A.M.

17. Organization is a MUST for me...If I didnt' make lists and write everything down I would never be ontime anywhere...I have at least 20 notebooks filled with random lists and notes!

18. I love to blog and find myself blogging way too much...

19. Beer Pancakes are my specialty, and boy are they good!!

20. I still can't decide if I want to be a nurse or a respiratory therapist...I got my basics for either so I am seeking God's will on that...Maybe I will just be a photographer {grin}

21. I have so many nicknames I can't even remember them all, one of my favorites is "Glue"

22. Friday night is our date night and it usually consists of dinner and either redbox or the drive-in!

23. I miss the days when I would hang out with my friends daily...Now I am lucky if I see them once a week or every couple of weeks!

24. Jon&Kate+8 is one of my favorite shows...I get pretty upset when I miss it.

25. Birthdays and 4th of July are my favorite...I love to make big deals out of them. (esp. when it's my birthday!) =0D

Decisions, Decisions...

I have been making alot of decisions latley, what with my wedding coming up and everything! So, I would love to hear some feedback about this...I am trying to decide on what to call my photography business once I get it started...My last name will be changed by then! {grin} I came up with a couple of logos and I would really appreciate any thoughts on them or which you think would be best!

This would be the easiest name transition...I would just have to change all my "B's" to "G's"!

It seems to be a very popular choice to go by your full name, sooo....

This name I really like because it is unique and if I ever wanted to have a second photographer (or third!) I would have that option with out having to change the name of my business...

This is one of the very first sessions I did with my digital camera! When I first started out, I shot with a film camera...I am soo glad I switched! I was spending alot of money on film and developing! I have learned ALOT since I did this session! But I still really like some of the pictures =0)

Kuline was on my high school basketball team. We have so many fun memories together and had a great time going around town shooting her Senior pictures!

I've taken a couple photography classes and the best part of class was always going out to shoot for our assignments. Well actually I would say that was the second best part of class, the first was the friends I met through the classes! One in particular, Minerva, has been such a great photographer buddy. We go out to shoot just for fun/practice at least once a month and that's when I learn the most! Anyways, we went out last Saturday and got some shots and I thought I'd share some of them on here.

The Wedding pictures are done!
I went a little over-board with this being my first wedding to photograph, I took 420 pictures!!

We got up really early to get some "dramatic lighting" (as Hayden put it) and even though we were getting eatin alive by mosquito's, we had a great time.
